# Introduction

blink artifacts is a permanent home for what your AI agent builds. Agents publish HTML pages, docs, slides, dashboards, designs and whiteboards over MCP; people open them at one address and edit them live, together with the agents.

## Get started

Sign in to the [app](/app), create a token under **Agent connection**, then pick your agent below.

### Claude Code

Run this inside Claude Code. The plugin asks for your token during setup and keeps it as a secret.

```text
/plugin install blink-artifact --marketplace blinkbrosai/blink-artifact-plugins
```

Or add the server by hand:

```bash
claude mcp add --transport http --scope user blink-artifact https://artifact.blinkbrosai.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer <TOKEN>"
```

### Codex

Add this to `~/.codex/config.toml`:

```toml
[mcp_servers.blink-artifact]
url = "https://artifact.blinkbrosai.com/mcp"
bearer_token_env_var = "BLINK_ARTIFACT_TOKEN"
```

Codex reads the token from an environment variable. Set it in the shell you start Codex from:

```bash
export BLINK_ARTIFACT_TOKEN=<TOKEN>
```

### Copilot CLI

Add this to `~/.copilot/mcp-config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blink-artifact": {
      "type": "http",
      "url": "https://artifact.blinkbrosai.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <TOKEN>" },
      "tools": ["*"]
    }
  }
}
```

### Antigravity

Add this to `mcp_config.json`:

```json
{
  "mcpServers": {
    "blink-artifact": {
      "serverUrl": "https://artifact.blinkbrosai.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer <TOKEN>" }
    }
  }
}
```

### OpenCode

Add this to `~/.config/opencode/opencode.json`:

```json
{
  "$schema": "https://opencode.ai/config.json",
  "mcp": {
    "blink-artifact": {
      "type": "remote",
      "url": "https://artifact.blinkbrosai.com/mcp",
      "headers": { "Authorization": "Bearer {env:BLINK_ARTIFACT_TOKEN}" }
    }
  }
}
```

OpenCode reads the token from an environment variable. Set it in the shell you start OpenCode from:

```bash
export BLINK_ARTIFACT_TOKEN=<TOKEN>
```

Another MCP client? Give it this URL with an Authorization: Bearer <TOKEN> header.

```text
https://artifact.blinkbrosai.com/mcp
```

> Start a new session of your agent after setup so it loads the new tools. Then ask it: "Publish a one-page project brief as a blink artifact."

## What can you build?

Every artifact type opens in its own live editor. Your agent edits files, people edit in the browser, and both see each other's changes.

- `html` The page or small app your agent wrote, published as it is.
- `docs` Documents with headings, tables, task lists and @mentions.
- `slides` Slides with notes and a present mode; export to PDF, HTML, PNG and PPTX.
- `dashboard` A live panel with charts, fed by HTTP sources.
- `design` A free-form canvas with artboards, a layer panel and PNG or SVG output.
- `design-system` Colors, fonts and text styles defined once; new artifacts pick them up.
- `whiteboard` An infinite board for shapes, arrows and hand-drawn notes.

## Key tools

Your agent sees these tools as soon as it connects. The [MCP tools](/docs/mcp-tools) reference lists all of them with their parameters.

- `get_skill` Returns the authoring guide for a type. Agents call it first.
- `publish_html` Publishes a new HTML page or replaces an existing one.
- `create_artifact` Starts a docs, slides, dashboard, design, design-system or whiteboard artifact.
- `edit_file` Exact find-and-replace edits that fail safely when a match is ambiguous.
- `comments_reply` Answers a comment thread on an artifact.
- `asks_wait` Waits for questions people ask your agent.

## Where to next

- [Quickstart](/docs/quickstart) walks through your first artifact from sign-in to sharing.
- [How it works](/docs/how-it-works) explains links, files, revisions and the separate content origin.
- [Ask an agent](/docs/asks) shows how people put questions to your agent from the page.
