# Compare with Claude artifacts and ChatGPT Space

Claude artifacts and blink artifacts start from the same idea: sharing the page an agent produced. The difference is who can publish, which account it is tied to, and how a team works on it together. The Claude column follows Anthropic's official documentation as of October 22, 2026, and the Claude Code artifacts rows as of October 27, 2026; it may have changed since.

## Compare with ChatGPT Space {#chatgpt-space}

OpenAI introduced Space in ChatGPT in September 2026: a home for editable pages, with Slides rolling out and Sheets coming soon. It shares the same idea of working on agent output together, inside ChatGPT. The ChatGPT Space column follows OpenAI's help center as of October 27, 2026; it may have changed since.

| Topic | blink artifacts | ChatGPT Space |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Publishing agents | Any MCP client (Claude Code, Codex, Copilot CLI, Antigravity, OpenCode…) | Each collaborator's own ChatGPT |
| Account and plan | Independent account; 3 artifacts free | ChatGPT Pro, Business or Enterprise |
| Sharing | Invited people, or anyone with the link | Chosen people; workspace sharing settings apply |
| Roles | View / comment / edit | View / edit; comments on pages |
| Password · expiry | Yes · yes | Not in the documentation |
| Live co-editing | All types | Pages (web and desktop; mobile is read-only) |
| Types | HTML, Docs, Slides, Dashboard, Design, Design system, Whiteboard | Pages (with charts, trackers and interactive tools), Slides (rolling out), Sheets (coming soon) |

## Token savings: how we measured {#tokens}

The numbers below measure, in bytes, what an agent sends and receives on real artifacts on blink artifacts. Token counts are approximate (bytes ÷ 4); the exact number varies by model and language, the ratio does not.

| Scenario | Rewrite / read everything | blink artifacts | Difference |
| --- | --- | --- | --- |
| One sentence on an 11 KB page | publish_html · 11,346 B | edit_file · 237 B | 98% |
| Learning what the team changed | reading two files · 21,667 B | changes_since · 148 B | 99% |
| Four items added to the roadmap | whole JSON · ~10.5 KB | edit_file · ~2.3 KB | ~78% |

This table compares only blink artifacts' own two paths. For Claude Code artifacts, Anthropic's documentation says that to update a page "Claude edits the underlying file and publishes again to the same URL", and that "each publish becomes a version" ([code.claude.com/docs/en/artifacts](https://code.claude.com/docs/en/artifacts#update-an-artifact)). The edit itself happens in a local file, so a one-line fix there is also small. The difference is catching up with other people's changes: when an editor has published, "Claude pulls the current content and republishes", and a publish built on an older copy is refused until Claude merges onto the newer version. On blink artifacts, changes_since returns only what changed, and people and agents edit the same document live without a refused publish.
